Kazakhstan, Japan signed agreement on uranium deliveries in exchange for nuclear technologies 04.03.2010    
 

Almaty. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and Japan signed the contract on uranium deliveries in exchange for nuclear technologies, the agency reports citing Reuters.

According to Reuters, the contract was signed within the agreement on cooperation in the sphere of processing of uranium fuel for Kansay atomic power stations signed in 2007 between the Japanese Kansai Electric Power Co, the trading house Sumitomo Corp, Tokyo-based Nuclear Fuel Industries Ltd. and the Kazakhstan National Company Kazatomprom.

As informed earlier, last year, Kazakhstan became the largest manufacturer of uranium in the world. In 2010, Kazatomprom will produce 18 thousand tons of uranium, the representative of the company informed.
