Astana. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan has exported 4.8 million tons of grain of 2009 crop. The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Akylbek Kurishbaev, informed at the expanded meeting of Nur Otan faction, answering the deputies' questions, the agency reports.
"Kazakhstan has exported 4.8 million tons of grain. This is approximately by 1 million tons of grain more than last year," A. Kurishbaev informed.
The Minister of Agriculture specified that grain is exported "to Iran, to Afghanistan, and the Central Asian countries." "Here our grain is competitive."
"As for the export of the Kazakhstan grain to the Black Sea ports and the Baltic Sea, "Kazakhstan had some problems, but thanks to the government's support, the issue was resolved."
A. Kurishbaev also informed that "now the ports of the Baltic and the Black Seas are closed (for Kazakhstan), therefore, Russia and Ukraine export their grain. "They also had a good harvest. As soon as these ports will be freer, we will resume exporting in this direction."
The state has bought from the agrarians 5 million tons of grain of the new crop.
