Astana. Kazakhstan Today - The Majilis deputies at the plenary session passed the bill on ratification of the agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on cooperation development on effective use of the Baikonur complex, the agency reports.

According to the conclusion of Majilis Committee for International Aaffairs, Defense and Security, the agreement acknowledges the importance of modernization of the infrastructure of the cosmodrome Baikonur and preservation of its historically significance. The Kazakhstan and Russian experts and the organizations will participate in realization of the joint projects on the identical conditions.

Kazakhstan and Russia consider necessary to carry out joint work to maintain ecological safety and preservation of the environment connected with realization of the space-rocket activity.

The agreement assumes development and creation at the cosmodrome Baikonur a space-rocket complex Bayterek. The rent by the Russian Federation of the complex Baikonur will last until 2050.
