Astana. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed a number of Customs Union laws, the agency reports citing the president's press service.
According to the press service, the head of state signed the law on ratification of the protocol on the amendments of the agreement on the principles of collection of indirect taxes imposed on export and import of goods, works, and services in the Customs Union from January 25, 2008.
As informed earlier, the protocol has been developed with a view of realization of the agreement on the principles of collection of indirect taxes imposed on export and import of goods, works, and services in the Customs Union from January 25, 2008. The protocol's article 1 introduces changes to the agreement's article 3, according to which state-importer tax departments collect indirect taxes imposed on goods imported to the territory of one Customs Union state from the territory of the other Customs Union state.
The head of state signed the law on ratification of the agreement on establishment and application in the Customs Union of the order of transfer and distribution of import customs duties (other duties and taxes having equivalent value).
According to the Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Bolat Zhamishev, "establishment and application in the Customs Union of the order of transfer and distribution of import customs duties is one of the conditions of unification of customs territories of the parties into the uniform customs territory and acceptance of the decision on completion of the Customs Union formation".
The head of state also signed the law on ratification of the protocol on the status of the center of customs statistics of the Customs Union Commission.
